Real-estate photographers have used background removal since the chroma-key days to fix grey skies, busy kitchen counters, and unwanted furniture in listing photos. Modern AI tools do the same job in seconds. BGRemover is built for the listing workflow: re-sky an overcast exterior in a single click, declutter a kitchen counter, brighten a dim room, and deliver listing-ready photos in under an hour from capture — not the 24-hour turnaround most real-estate photo services charge.

Three real-estate workflows we built for

First, the listing photographer. The standard 25-photo shoot is delivered to the agent in under an hour with BGRemover's batch processing and listing-specific presets. The MLS-ready photos have a consistent, on-brand look across the whole portfolio. Second, the agent who shoots their own listings. BGRemover replaces a $200/month Lightroom + Photoshop subscription and produces MLS-ready output from a phone camera. Third, the staging company. Before-and-after photos for the staging portfolio are the highest-leverage marketing asset — a vacant living room becomes a styled, aspirational space with a single BGRemover pass on the furniture cutouts.

What a re-sky does to an exterior listing photo

An overcast exterior is the most common photo retouching job in real estate. The standard fix is a 'sky replacement' — the grey overcast sky is replaced with a blue sky with light clouds. The before/after is dramatic: the same house, photographed on a grey day, looks listable in the after version. BGRemover's re-sky preset isolates the sky, swaps it for a blue-sky background, and exports the listing-ready image in a single click. The whole job takes 10 seconds per photo.

The export presets that save the most time

MLS preset: 2048x1536 px, JPG, sRGB, the MLS-required resolution and aspect ratio. Zillow preset: 1024x768 px, JPG, with the Zillow-friendly minimum file size. Realtor.com preset: 1280x960 px, JPG, sRGB. Social preset: 1080x1080 px, JPG, for Instagram and Facebook. Re-sky preset: any source, blue-sky background, JPG. Each preset is a single click in the export panel; the master raw photo is always preserved as the source of truth.
