No plugins, no Photoshop needed

Method 1 — PowerPoint's Built-in Remove Background Command

Best for: simple product shots on white or solid-color backgrounds

1

Insert the image into PowerPoint

Open PowerPoint → Insert → Pictures → select your image. Click the image to select it.

2

Click Remove Background

In the Picture Format tab, click Remove Background. PowerPoint shows a purple overlay where it thinks the background is.

3

Refine the selection

Use the Mark Areas to Keep and Mark Areas to Remove tools to paint over parts PowerPoint got wrong.

4

Save the result

Click Keep Changes when done. Right-click the image → Save as Picture → choose PNG to export with transparency.

Method 2 — BGRemover First, Then PowerPoint

Best for: complex images, portraits, product photos with fine detail

1

Remove background in BGRemover

Open /workspace, upload your image, and download a transparent PNG. 5 seconds.

2

Insert the PNG into PowerPoint

In PowerPoint, go to Insert → Pictures → select the PNG you downloaded.

3

Resize and position

Drag the corners to resize (hold Shift to maintain aspect ratio).

4

Animate or apply effects

Because the image is already cut out, you can apply PowerPoint animations directly to the subject.
